What is Text-To-Speech? (TTS)

  • Text-to-Speech (TTS) is technology that reads digital text aloud, usually with computer generated voices. Typically there are options to customize voices and reading speed.

How is TTS beneficial to students?

  • For students with reading, attention or processing challenges, TTS can eliminate barriers of the printed page and allow students to see and hear text at the same time, creating a multisensory experience.
