Finding activities to practice elapsed time is difficult, but The Math Learning Center's free apps (for iPad or Chrome) makes it easy to create and share activities with your class. (In this example, we will be referencing the Math Clock app on an iPad.) Set up your screen on your iPad with two clocks. Add the digital clock feature as well underneath the analog clock. Display two different times on the clock. Share your screen set up with student iPads so they can follow along to solve the difference between the displayed times. (See the share button in the lower right of the app.) Use annotation tools to jump time intervals or manually move the hands on the clock to count.
