Password Requirements

All passwords must:
  • Be different than any previous password
  • Not contain three or more consecutive characters from your User Name.
Staff, Middle and High School passwords must also:
  • Be at least TWELVE characters in length
  • Have three of the following four categories:
    • English uppercase characters (A through Z)
    • English lowercase characters (a through z)
    • Base 10 digits (0 through 9)
    • Non-alphanumeric characters (!@#$%^)
Do not use any of the following:
  • More than two identical characters in a row
  • Common words or phrases: password, fcps, football, letmein, etc.
  • Common patterns: abcd, qwerty, 1234
  • Capitalized word then number then special character (or the reverse): Fall2015!, #1 Team
  • Social information such as: family or pet names, favorite car, telephone number, anniversary, birthday, street name, zip code, etc.

NEVER use a password that is also used on any other system or site (e.g. Facebook, Bank, etc.)

Staff accounts

  • Password Reset Service - enrollment is required prior to using the services
    • Also available from a number of locations - Employee Portal, FCPS eMail, and FCPS device login screen
    • Unlock a locked account
    • Reset a password when the current password is unknown

Student accounts

  • Students will have to see their school's User Support Specialist or equivalent to manage account issues
