LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
The Leadership Program is a signature program at Oakdale High School. OHS students may apply in the fall of their freshman or sophomore year. Out of District Students interested in applying to the program must contact Tiffany Malagari using the information provided below to review eligibility. Information regarding the application process is distributed via Find Out First, morning announcements, The Weekly Bear News, Schoology Groups and classroom visits.
The Oakdale High School Leadership Academy empowers tomorrow’s leaders today, by equipping students with the skills and processes necessary to effectively lead in the dynamic world in which we live. Students will be actively engaged in an intensive study of coursework that emphasizes the skills for 21st century learners and leaders including – technology, communication, world perspectives, problem solving and ethical decision making. The Academy is completed over 2 consecutive semesters, is a weighted course, and begins in the spring of sophomore or junior year. Successful completion of the Academy provides students with a weighted Personal Financial Literacy Credit required for graduation.
Program requirements include:
- Submitting all required Application parts
- Successful completion of Leadership I and Leadership II courses taken in consecutive semesters
- Successful completion of Leadership Service Project
- Earning a passing grade on the final Leadership Paper
