FREDERICK COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOL ENROLLMENT INFORMATION

In Maryland, children are assigned to school based on their home address. Your address will determine where your child will go to school. Frederick County Public Schools serve almost 48,000 students with about 70 schools and programs. You can locate your child’s assigned school by visiting: School Finder (arcgis.com)

Before you go to the school office, please ensure you gather, maintain, and hand carry the following items (it will assist you with enrollment):

1) Ensure you have a copy of your student’s birth certificate

2) Ensure you have a copy of proof of residency

3) Parent Photo Identification

4) Shot/Immunization record

5) Most recent physical

6) Obtain the name, phone number, and email to your current school registrar

7) Obtain the name, phone number, and email to your current school counselor

8) Maintain a copy of your students most recent report card

9) Obtain a copy of your student’s unofficial transcript

10) If applicable, maintain a copy of any specialty test scores such as advance course

11) placement scores (i.e., gifted and talented test scores)

12) If applicable, maintain a copy of your student’s special education plan such as IEP or 504 plan
