Dual Enrollment (DE) courses allow you to earn your high school diploma and college credits simultaneously, at a fraction of the normal cost. Frederick Community College (FCC) offers a variety of dual enrollment options in partnership with Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS). Your goals determine which option is best for you. Contact your school counselor for more information on each program or to enroll.
Attention students planning to take Open Campus FCC classes this Fall! FCPS has recently announced some important changes to the Open Campus program. To enroll in any Fall courses at FCC, you must obtain approval from your school and be enrolled by August 1. Click here to access the Dual Enrollment Guide for Students to learn how to assess eligibility, complete the application process, and proceed with registration. After August 1, enrollment in Open Campus courses at FCC will not be possible until the Spring semester.
Starting this school year, FCPS will cover the cost of up to two (2) Open Campus courses per year for 11th graders and up to four (4) Open Campus courses per year for 12th graders. However, if approved by your school, you may take additional courses, but you will be responsible for the tuition and fees for those courses. (Note: Income-eligible students may have tuition, fees, and textbooks waived for additional approved classes.)
