Heather Ridge School offers two programs for students – the high school program and the middle school program. The hours of operation for students are 7:42 a.m. - 2:15 p.m., Monday – Friday. Students, in addition to access to the Frederick County Curriculum, when appropriate, have access to online learning, FCC coursework, CTC and work study. Under special circumstances or conditions, a student may require programming that differs from the regular program. The options for these special circumstances or conditions will be determined as necessary, but may include virtual learning, a hybrid day, evening coursework, or participation in one or two classes at a neighboring school.
The academic program follows the essential curriculum offered throughout Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS). A structured behavior management system provides feedback to students regarding their ability to be compliant throughout the day. Therapeutic services offer students small group and individual opportunities to learn coping strategies to utilize in the classroom.
